ABOUT ME
Hello my name is Emily. I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist.

I have worked across many sectors including charities, education, social care and the NHS. I have supported stroke survivors, people living with dementia and their carers whilst training as a Counsellor and later a Psychotherapist.
In the current climate, the things that can challenge us and cause us to seek additional support in the form of therapy are vast and varied. I recognise that as human beings we are complex and don’t always fit neatly into the boxes so often required for us to be able to access support with our psychological and emotional wellbeing. My passion for therapy lies in being able to offer this support.
What treatment looks like
I use an integrative person centred approach to therapy. This means I use a range of therapeutic skills and approaches appropriate for each client. The service I offer is individualised to your specific needs and is based on trust, honesty and respect, which I feel are crucial when supporting you to explore and gain clarity into your thoughts, emotions and behaviours. I offer one-to-one and couples therapy covering a wide range of issues.
I offer a calm supportive space for you to explore the things that are troubling you. You are the best expert in you and my role will be to understand how you are feeling and how these feelings are impacting your life. I will work with you as an equal to facilitate a way forward in a supportive and non-judgemental manner.
Our first session will take the form of an assessment in order to fully understand your reasons for seeking therapy and your hopes for therapy and any past/present concerns that you feel are currently impacting you.
